This summer I had an amazing time visiting my homeland Taiwan. I hadn’t been back since 2002. Though the sights and smells (stinky tofu) were all familiar, my large family and cousins were slightly different. All the cousins I had known grew up becoming teenagers, and new cousins came out of nowhere.
We also checked out Hong Kong, home of Bruce Lee until he was a teenager. Skyscrapers to rival New York and a subway that was as clean as DC’s, the city was also home to one of the largest sitting Buddhas in the world. The Buddha happened to be on a large mountain, with a thunderstorm brewing… but that’s another story. More pics from my trip here.
